I am a dedicated landscape architect providing clients with over thirty years of experience in the planning, design and permitting of land development projects ranging in size, scope, and program requirements. I am committed to fully understand and meet client needs, albeit time, program, permit approval or budget related concerns. Further, I approach each site as a unique opportunity to enhance natural features and to integrate proposed site improvements onto the land with minimal disturbance. My project designs culminate in the successful creation of landscapes that are designed to maximize and integrate the aesthetics, functions and sustainable aspects of the man-made and natural environments.
Past project designs, in association with John G. Crowe Assoc., have been recognized for innovative, creative, sustainable environmental design solutions. The design and incorporation of wet ponds, pretreatment marshes, bioretention swales and other measures to provide functional, aesthetic and envionmental benefits have always been a matter of course and primary in site design goals. Now, the design and incorporation of those measures into site plans have become required standards to meet current water quality management and protection regulations.
A long champion of xeriscape landscape design to reduce water usage, my planting designs utilize those plants that are the least water dependent. Planting plans focus on utilization of native trees, shrubs and perennials to support wildlife. Planting plans are always designed to respond to individual natural and man-made site features, to provide year-round visual interest, address environmental needs and function, and meet low maintenance requirements.
I am proud that my design approach for each site always stems from a desire to provide truly livable landscape areas for users to enjoy, that meet client goals and enhance the man-made environment while preserving and safeguarding our threatened natural environment.
